[journal] Log Book - White Box with Spikes
I have found a cuboidal object in #49 dig site. It is hard in nature, grey-ish white, has four spikes protruding from its sides. The spikes are movable.
Object has been found in multiple residential areas of the creatures before us. All located in plain sight. All of them are either white, grey, or black in color, with at least two spikes, panning out in a fan shape.
Could it be an idol for religion? A decorative piece? Or does it pose a more functional meaning?
The sockets on the sides hint that it’s meant to have power entering it. It suggest a more functional meaning. Upon disassembling one, I find it to be more intricate in nature. Inside there are many faded green boards with metal bits, strange wires, and black boxes with writings on it. The purpose of each part is yet unknown. The most important thing of note is that the black boxes have faint white writings written in a very neat manner, with every character visible for reading. Highly likely that it is printed on. I might need to find someone to consult on this. But without a source of power, we can only give speculation and educated guesses.
Small bulbs that produce light can be found on the top shell. It produces green and red light, same as the previous artifacts. It suggest uniformity. A common apparatus in each household. I think it something they use on a day-to-day basis.
It is evident that there is a form of input and output relationship going on in this object. We know that power is one of its inputs, then what eludes me is the output. There are no hatch or lids on this object, which means it won’t have something pop out like a music box (and it doesn’t seem to have anything that produces sounds inside). Maybe the output is not something physical or visible to the naked eye? But if it’s something that cannot be seen, what could it possibly be?
It must be something important in order for the creatures before us to have it in nearly every site. If it doesn’t serve the basic need for survival, e.g. eating or drinking, it must serve something else.
My Hypothesis
Hypothesis #1: Since air isn’t visible to our eyes, the apparatus might serve as an air provider.
But how does power play a part in this? An air filtration system?
Hypothesis #2: A form of communication channel.
Hypothesis #3: A decoration pedestal. The object is placed on top of this cuboidal artifact was organic in nature and has decomposed over the years, which is why we can’t find a trace of it. Or, it’s highly valuable and was taken away before the past creatures left our world?
