These guys live mostly in swampy areas or near freshwater bodies of water. They lay 3 to 6 eggs in the spring and until the baby grows legs its parents are nearby to scare away potential threats. Their hoods can inflate, the texture resembling inflatable toys. They are easily torn but heal just as quickly. They eat all sorts of aquatic life
