[treasure] rain?

Frowning, the girl looks at the grey clouds that cover the sky. A cloudy sky is a sure sign of rain. At first the sky begins to be covered with sparse, fluffy clouds, which gradually thicken, covering more and more of the sky. The humidity rises, the temperature drops. Definitely rain. Her eyebrows are shifted and her lips are pressed into a thin line, a clear sign of disappointment. The damp wind flutters her hair, seeking to flick it back over her face. But Kaloria only gestures impatiently at the stubborn strands, staring out at the blurred landscape.

The heavy raindrops drummed monotonously against the old, worn planks of the dilapidated hut in which she had taken shelter. Each thump elicits a disgruntled sigh from the girl. Her fingers tapped nervously on the worn leather bag that held her maps and compass, her faithful companions in her fascinating but weather-dependent endeavour. Her heart beat restlessly in her chest, giving away her growing impatience.

The dilapidated hut, like a sad old man, stood scantily in the middle of the overgrown lot. Its weathered boards were faded with age, and in some places they were covered with dark, rough moss. The roof, failing in places, was covered with a thick layer of dust and leaves, a testament to years of desertion. The cobweb-covered windows had no trace of their former panes, just empty eye sockets staring out at the world with indifference. The door, skewed and shrivelled, struggled on its rusty hinges, as if ready to collapse at any moment.

Inside was cold, damp and desolate. The floor was strewn with ancient, tattered things buried under a thick layer of dust. There were signs of decay everywhere - rotted beams, crumbling plaster, torn wallpaper, a reminder of the forgotten and lonely old age of this once inhabited place. But even this was enough for a safe, temporary shelter.

She watches with a kind of wistfulness as the rain trickles down the moss-covered logs of the outer wall like tears lamenting her enforced inactivity. Another frustrated sigh escapes her lips. Kaloria is well aware that this dank day promises her nothing but a dreary wait for shelter. Her dreams of the new treasures she had hoped to find today are melting away in the endless rain.

Then again, what kind of treasure hunter would she be if she was afraid of just rain...? Yes, it would have been that simple. Rain, it wasn't just a problem to search for. Rain could have caused illness. Or, if it had intensified, it would have created trivial difficulties with visibility. She wasn't afraid of rain, she just knew the basics of any travelling. Not to disregard the weather conditions and stay out of harm's way. Grateful for the hut the girl sat down on the floor, watching the weather. The place was empty, probably forbidden due to some malfunction. Well, it was to her advantage, so the young traveller was not going to complain. Putting her bag under her head and running her tired eyes over the slender tree trunks, she lay down on her side.

Oh! What's that there? The girl quickly jumped to her feet, not believing her eyes. From beneath a broken board peeked out the lid of an ancient chest. After working to push the decrepit boards away, after a while Kaloria sighed victoriously, holding the ancient treasure in her hands. Who could have known that even without walking through the mountains, without climbing into the unenlightened jungle, without diving into the deepest lakes and seas one could find something of value. This little adventure, which seemed to have failed at the very beginning, lifted the girl's spirits more than any other before.
