[journal] traveling journal of Eden- Part 1

Day 1:

I began my search in the mangroves. Which is a bit of a cop out, I can admit that much. I enjoy taking regular dips in the mangroves so it is not exactly going out to explore the greater world. However, there are things to learn about everywhere, which includes the mangroves near where I am.

To make up for not wandering too far, I did spend more time carefully exploring the mangroves. Here are my observations:

I passed by three koi guppers. They’re rather comfortable with symps. They swam right up to me, swimming right up to my hands. It was both sweet and worrying. Sweet because they’re very cute. They even had a strange pattern that I hadn’t seen before. It was also worrying because they should have more fear. The bappies and their family that live near here must be feeding them without taking them home. While they have good intentions, it can cause the guppers to be dependent on us to gather food. I really considered taking them home but since I will be travelling it’d likely be best leave them here.

I went quite deep and also notice a sleepy catfish. It was quite large. It was nearly the size of my arm. I decided to bring it home with me, so our little city could have some nice food before I leave. It was pretty easy to catch. We were able to make quite a few meals from it. We even made some chips from it that I will be able to take on my travels.

I’ll head out tomorrow. I hope you’re doing well also, Karma.

Day 3:

I was unable to record my findings yesterday. I was able to leave early in the morning. I mostly spent the day walking. The scenery was lovely. I was hoping to get as closed to the nearest city as possible.

Luckily, it seems like it was many people travel through this path. Despite the dense forest, there was a clear path of desire. I was able to make great headway. When night fell, I was able to find shelter in a large fallen tree. It had hollowed out and it seems like some animals had once used it at some point but that must’ve been some time ago. It didn’t hold any scent, at least nothing out of the ordinary.

I’m writing this while having breakfast. I’ll likely make some more good head way today as well. I should be at the next town in by nightfall tomorrow.

Hopefully, you’re also doing well Karma.
