[spookies] Spooky story of moth sisters
"Be careful, sister."
As a tiny sound that breaks a branch of bush, softly calm with faint coldness voice followed Irish's back.
"I know, and you don't have to worry."
Little bit high pitched tone of bubbly voice answered, "I'm your old sister! I'm the one who have to worry about my sis. Also we don't need to worry too much about this, this place is our forest."
Irish looks back to face her younger sister, Ikur, and her carved and well decorated, -but could be easily hidden- gold and black bird beak shaped mask reflects small bright shine. The light disappears as soon her wisp moves to the other side. As Ikur makes her face a little bit more expressionless, she says small 'opps,' sound and add with way more calm voice.
"We're just checking who was the one entered our place last night, and we will just guide it so can go out here. We haven't heard any sounds that were leaving this forest today, right?"
They were pursuing a trespasser of their forest, following a few, but obvious tracks. Somehow 'it' entered without being caught by Ikur's eyes in the night. And as their forest is protected by these sisters for the safety reason, they had to make it leave from here. Ikur thought this might be dangerous. Because something like this never happened before. Nobody passed her eyes without being caught, and she wasn't even tired last night. She was fully awaken at that time. That was making Ikur worrying but the in front of her footsteps of older sister was just light and lucid. She couldn't help but just hope this tracking should be fine. They kept going towards, making the wisp fade in and out.
Rustle-, while the footprint disappeared and they're finding other tracks, leaves made an odd sound that couldn't be made themselves. Someone was very near, hiding its appearance. The sisters didn't miss a single sound, so they silently sent signals using their hand and body gestures to each other. And finally they approached to the origin of the sound slowly, and... they couldn't find anything in there.
"... Huh?"
Irish made a small noise as showing her unbelievable emotion.
"Didn't you hear the s..."
She couldn't get on with her words, because Ikur was not there.
"Wait, what...? Ikur?"
She looked around over there quickly, but even a single sparkle of her wisp or shine of silver mask. Ikur was no where.
"Oh, no."
After speaking that short confused word, she started to flap her wings strong, making herself fly in air so high in a second.
Above the highest wood in the forest, in the cold sky, slight moonlight embraced the world and showed all of the ground. Irish didn't miss any single movement of the forest, she look through the whole ground under her wings and carefully observed, trying to calm her heart down. She never imagined that her younger sister would disappear without telling her any word or suddenly getting in danger. Ikur was the one that she could tell better than her on every aspect. So she put her worrying behind, thinking that she would have done that decision as she had a reason, considering Ikur always made wise decisions. So she glided under the clouds, hoping she could catch a single shine of her footsteps.
The sky of near winter was pretty cold. Wind stroked her face through her gold mask, making her soul fully awaken than ever. One moment while she was doing her best observation, small but clear glance shortly appeared near the lake. Without any hesitant, her wings were down and made her body head to that shine. Her soft but skilled wings didn't make any outstanding noise while landing. So she could silently hop into the branches. Starting to look around, the eyes behind the mask catched a glance again. She was about to glide towards the shine but she stopped, as she noticed that wasn't a white or pale silver color. It was bright purple.
'Oh. Okay, so guess that's the one who sneakily came into our forest.' She thought, moving slowly and carefully as much as she can so that intruder never notice her.
She was getting very close to the last place she catched the purple glance. When she was about to have a last step, maybe she was too nervous and tense- missed a step, making a small noise. As soon as the noise wake up the forest, the footstep of intruder followed it and started to gone far away. The sound of hooves quickly disappeared, as the running was so fast. She immediately knew it's impossible to catch that footstep unless she can fly strongly through the forest. As she couldn't cut the all branches up the trees, she ended up to give up.
"... *sigh* not again!"
Disappointment as main, lots of emotions overwhelmed her. Those were not much to make her depressed, but were enough to make her irritated, and also worry. She failed to find her sister, and even almost catched the intruder, but eventually missed due to her small mistake. Even she was in those bad feelings, she couldn't just sitting in there. Those reasons of making her feeling bad were also the reasons why she couldn't stop. She hit gently her cheeks herself to wake her soul up again, and started to walk again. She was going to follow the intruder's last footsteps.
Making some footprints next to the intruder's hooves ones, Irish started to think about who would be this intruder. She immediately came up symprite, as their feet are also hooves but she wasn't sure. She has never heard of a symp as much as fast like this. If this symp is not good one or is a criminal, this could be so dangerous than whe ever thought. Contrast to her complex feelings and thoughts, the night was so perfectly beautiful. The bright light of the moon shined the lake brilliant than ever, and the silver shadows of leaves were making eyes so comfortable. She wasn't giving attention to this gorgeous landscape, but some movement and pale white reflected light from over the lake wake her mind.
"Ikur?"
She stared the sorce of the light right away as she caught it with her eyes, doesn't even know what she just said. However, at the end of her sight, it wasn't what she expected. The shape of most sacred soul of this forest, Tirta was there. Although it wasn't what she was hoping, but better than anything else none or other danger.
"Tirta!"
It couldn't be not glad to meet someone else who has soul she could share her feelings and she already has known. Saying out her name loud, Irish spread her wings and towards to her without any hesitant. Tirta drank water silently, and then raised her head to greet the small owner of this forest. Her tail wagged a few times to tell delight feel to see her.
"Oh, what's up in here? Does there anything you need?"
Flaping her carpet like wings gently right in front of Tirta's head, she softly pat her mane. In this situation without sister and losing the target, meeting her made her heart a bit relieved. Irish felt better feeling than last a few hours, and asked her.
"Tirta, I need your help."
She stroked the gorgeous houndle's cheeck, and contacted her beautiful eyes.
"Could you help me a bit?"
Tirta also stared the eyes of Irish, and leaned her head softly to against her. The gentle cheek stroke and quiet breathing sound tickled Irish's ears. Tirta decided to go with her. Irish, smiling with happy emotion and quickly hopped on her back.
"Follow the footprint of unknown creature's hooves, it will guide you."
The voice that gentle and soft than ever winded Tirta's long ears, and as soon as she understood what does it mean, the world became blurry and windy. Speed of this sacred spirit was faster than ever as well.
The darkness forest was so silent, but was enough to see through every beings when with her houndle. While both of the souls were feeling the coldness but focusing on finding intruder, Tirta suddenly stopped.
"What..."
Tirta quietly leaned her neck to back to reach her owner. Irish realized what was that mean soon, as she also heard a sound too. It was from the intruder.
"..."
Irish stared the origin of that noise, and flied finally, successed to catch the intruder. Her four hands grabbed wild manes.
"... wait, what?"
Manes? She opened her eyes wide, and looked what she caught. It was a houndle, but which never seen before in this forest. The purple eyes of the houndle stared Irish by glowing, and it was very calm. Like someone taught this one to stay still if caught its snout.
"... Ha-!"
Irish spit the relief and despondency, but it wasn't last long. As she had to guide this soul to out of the forest, which would be much more safe than here.
"Come on, little soul. I'll guide you."
She quickly made a rope by using vine around her, and masked it to that lost houndle. After she started to walking by lead it, she knew that houndle injured its hooves. That's why it was so sensitive and kept trying to run in pain.
"Pity! I will care you,"
She decided to go back home than straight to go out, and added.
"... I'll need to find my sister but she should be fine."
As she got the 'intruder' and it was safe one. Still not sure where she gone, though.
The three souls walked to the home of Irish and Ikur, and... Irish saw Ikur was on there. She was confused and looked up her.
"Wait, how? Why??"
Ikur looked down, to see the voice owner.
"You were late than usual."
"What? Why are you here?? Do you have any idea how much I worried about you?"
Irish tone up her voice.
"What do you mean, sister? Today is not my turn to patrol, it's your day."
"... so?"
"That means I've never left home today."
... WHAT?????
Irish suddenly stopped, loosing what to say.
"Sister?"
Ikur came closer to look her sister and the soul she brought to home, but Irish was staying there, no moving with shock...
