It wasn't the first time Flame had ventured into those human ruins, but it was the first time he had ventured out completely alone since his best friend became more occupied with his business. He couldn't blame him; after all, his friend had his own life and family, mainly his son to take care of. However, as Flame observed the human ruins that were "the vault," he couldn't help but wonder if it was a good idea for him to be there on his own at that moment. He could feel the wind cutting through the branches and vegetation surrounding the canyon where this site was located, sending shivers down his spine in the slight sense of fear he felt in his bones.
"How bad can it be? It's not the first exploration, nothing is different, just... Dimitri isn't with me this time," he pondered before adjusting his backpack and finally deciding to enter the ruins. The rocky and somewhat mossy hill made the descent challenging, but once he reached the base of the massive structure, he glanced at the surrounding water to see some small fish swimming away from where he was looking. He left his backpack on the side, apparently to retrieve some kind of rudimentary map, showing the way down through the ruins. It seemed he had drawn the map himself, judging by its less-than-perfect quality that hinted at better years. "Let's see... I think I should enter from the east... and go down through... Ahh, who am I kidding, this is more boring coming alone," despondent Flame thought, looking somewhat downcast as he put the map away again after a glance and headed towards the entrance of the ruins. The place was damp and lonely, and he could feel gazes that, although likely just small creatures, made him sense that this time he might be someone's dinner if he didn't pay attention.
He searched around attentively, looking for something useful or perhaps something interesting to collect, but apparently, there was nothing he could brag about to his friend after he had managed to find something. Several hours passed as he ventured deeper into the site, and although he had found some gems, logs, and paint, he hadn't discovered anything much more interesting. This left him slightly disappointed, recalling that every time he came with his friend, somehow the place seemed to favor him, offering the best discoveries at arm's length. "Hmp... please, it can't be that difficult," Flame grumbled, kicking a small stone on the ground that hit one of the walls. He didn't pay much attention to it, but just moments later, he heard small noises around him. He went on the defensive, looking behind him, to his sides, and even above his head, noticing that something or several things seemed to be moving around. His fur stood on end as he tightened the straps of his backpack before deciding to run out of that corridor towards the entrance as fast as he could. He knew the way back by heart, but those things chasing him seemed to know it very well too. "What the hell is that?" he wondered to himself with slight desperation as he climbed stairs as fast as his somewhat short legs allowed. At least, in those moments, he was thankful for having trained hard before, or he would have already tired from the chase. Unfortunately, whatever was following him didn't seem to have any intention of stopping, and right now, neither did he.
"Why won't it leave me alone already? Any creature should have lost interest in me by now!" he thought anxiously, looking around before finally noticing with some exterior light filtering through the cracks of the ruins that one of those creatures was relatively small. It seemed to have tough, scaly skin and some sort of flower-like feelers. Fangs protruded from its face with small, red eyes. What they became clear – a small group of Fuppies was chasing him, and definitely, Flame didn't want to leave there as a chewed stress toy. Unluckily, he had ended up entangling one of his feet in a loose cable in the middle of the escape, causing him to fall and face those creatures that cautiously seemed to approach where he was. Flame tried to crawl slowly and backward, not wanting to provoke a negative reaction from those cute but dangerous creatures. In the midst of that, as he seemed to try to retreat, he seemed to remember something that made him realize why those creatures were probably chasing him. A small memory made him feel foolish, thinking that they were trying to catch him for no apparent reason.
His friend Dimitri came to mind, that symp with his own bakery who would always kindly leave him some kind of gift or supplies for the journey, even though he wouldn't come this time. Surely... that something wasn't well-wrapped, and the aroma had only served as bait for those creatures that were now trying to grab his backpack due to the sweet scent it emitted and not so much the "boring aramelle" that came with it. He quickly grabbed his backpack, taking out an apparent cake in a box emitting a sweet and delicious aroma. It pained him to do so because he would have enjoyed eating that delicious dessert given to him for the exploration as a snack, but he preferred to avoid leaving that place full of Fuppy bites. He left that cake in the box on the ground, pushing it towards where the creatures were, who eagerly almost launched themselves at that delicious cake, leaving the aramelle totally aside. Except for one, which had shown interest in him and had left a "cute" bite mark on one of his legs. Definitely, an exploration that Flame wouldn't forget for a long time... 1 to 2 weeks until that bite healed.
