trait lore
This trait is more of a visual decorative trait and nothing alike a symprites biote. No major organs and or important veins run through these smaller biotes, making them far more easier to manage and even customise. Cutting them short is not painful but does require an expert since these are filled with a goopy mass inside, so it can get quite messy if done without somebody who knows how to handle them.
These do naturally continue to grow during a symprites life, so without diligent upkeep its easy to appear quite messy. These also do not always grow fully over the head, it’s common for it to be localised on certain parts of the head and for the other parts to be covered with normal hair.

Even though there is no major veins present these smaller biotes are however known to move quite a little, and can even slightly act like its holding and or touching things. The owner can not feel these touches but it can still lead to pretty awkward situations, since they can appear to act out what the owner is thinking.

trait lore

This trait has become a staple visual of the Crystal subspecies, although it has seemingly muddied down a bit over the most recent years.

Commonly this trait was there to protect the owner when they were deep underground in search of minerals and ores, their strong mock up fangs being used to even crush different varieties of rock and scrap. Due to the more relaxed job of collecting ore these days some crystals have stepped away from their ornate desire to collect ore and shifted to other hoard items, diminishing their need for this trait in the long run. It's therefore often that these days you find crystals with a more refined and less visible face plating, more leaning towards the laxer nature of the other subspecies, the oasis subspecies.

Due the recent decline of this trait appearing as strong as it used to, the trait in it’s full form is seen as very attractive for other symprites. Seemingly a deep rooted desire for one way or another to keep this more purer form in the trait genepool.

The more brute-ish side of symprites with this trait generally still stick to their old traditions. After marriage they often let their mates carve out intricate designs and patterns on their face plating, to stake their claim and boast their happy marriage to friends and strangers alike.
